Engine and year would be helpful, also was it filled with fuel recently?

Did the screen on the dash show any messages?
Is the problem there all the time, or has it cleared after a restart?
Is the MIL on?
Next would be a proper diagnostics read. These are complicated vehicles, so codes logged will be helpful in pinpointing a possible cause.
If you have an android phone or tablet, you can buy a cheap (under £10) Bluetooth OBD2 dongle for the port on the vehicle, and get an App like Torque to read any codes from the ECM. I keep one in all of my cars, just in case.

Ok, so it's a 0.5 facelift model, useful to know.
If the message comes up straight away before starting, then the ECM is detecting an issue with a senior.
So in this instance you can discount the boost hoses, as that would only be detected after the engine is running under boost.
So I'd be looking for wiring issues or loose plugs on any of the sensors, or even an injector.
The sensors to check are the crank sensor, cam sensor, rail sensor, MAP sensor, MAF sensor, fuel temp sensor and the throttle body position sensor. Oh and if it has a DPF, it's worth checking the sensors for that too.
If that doesn't identify anything loose, then it'll need an OBD2 diagnostic read to get the code causing the issue.

Torque (lite is free, pro is paid for) or other Apps will pull all engine codes and live data when used with a Bluetooth ELM327 dongle, which can be bought next day delivery on Amazon for under £10.

Overboost condition is normally caused by a sticky turbo actuator or vanes. If it's the vanes, then using the vehicle will normally free them. If it's the actuator, it normally gets worse with time.
The missing data from the immobiliser is normally caused by starting the engine before the system check has completed.
