Ayup,

I'm just wondering whether or not I should install an alarm in my ole 1986 90. I can buy a DIY kit for around £58 which has two "ultrasonic" motion sensors, a siren and a fob. It looks simple enough to do, but I would appreciate some oppinions first.

Just out of interest, on the dashboard under the steering wheel to the right, there's a little electronic looking gizmo sticking out slightly with 3 metal contacts. What is this? Also, the keys have come with some kind of buttonless fob which contains batteries. I don't know whether its a tag for an unknown alarm on me landy, or whether it's an electronic pass for the previous owners workplace or gym etc. Any ideas?
