I'm very pleased to announce that I've got my Range Rover, fulfilling a dream I've had for years and years.
It's a P38 2000 model Vogue with all the usual bits, plus LPG.

I got a very good deal and I'm confident (as much as anyone can be) that the fundamentals are ok, though there are a number of niggles I'm going to work through. All advice on these would be really appreciated.
1. Sunroof. The sunroof moves from closing to popping up without stopping, therefore to 'close' the sunroof you have to be quite exact with where you stop it, plus I get the error saying sunroof open.
Would a replacement motor cure this, or is the problem more far reaching?
2. Passenger wing mirror. The glass is very loose inside the mirror housing so I'm going to take it to bits to see if I can stick it in a bit more solidly. Any advice here?
3. Side steps. I'm going to get rid of the side steps (and probably sell them on here). Are these easy to take off?
4. The hevac control is good in as much that the display is very good, however the buttons need to be pressed very hard. My gut feel is that it needs taking to bits, cleaning and putting back together again. Any horror stories regarding this approach?
There are a number of other things... The sat nav isn't working, there's only one key, the CD changer doesn't work, the steering wheel needs some dye, and some other things like that.
It also needs a thorough deep clean of the interior and some cosmetic improvements on the outside (new Range Rover text on the bonnet and bootlid). I'm also tempted to either buy replacements or change the alloys back to silver, I'm not sure the black on black look is really me.
Anyway, I'm thrilled to finally have a Range Rover of my own and I look forward to continuing to contribute here, and hopefully being able to share any knowledge I pick up.
