At some point I would like to address the illumiation of the aux socket. It is currently unplugged(just the bulb) as when a bulb is fitted it causes the whole dash to stop illuminating. I’m thinking a shorting wire maybe on that part of the harness? Am I barking up the right tree or is the BECM related somehow?

Maybe a trapped wire? Has it been stripped out for any reason? Or the console near to it..

Yeah it has been in and out a few times since I’ve had it but I have never noticed a trapped wire. It randomly started doing it one day about a year ago. Took me about a week to find that unplugging the bulb made the rest of the dash work again. I’ll chase the wire. Thanks mate.

Where is this Aux socket? The only one I have is at the back of the bus in the boot.

aux power/cigarette lighter. Should have been a little more clear.
