Is the short tailpipe on the rear silencer a MOT requirement?

Should be a fail if the tester thinks it's absence could allow exhaust gas to enter the cab.

mine passed its mot, without rear silencers, but did have exhaust pipes going to the end of the car,! no silencers at all. but did have front cats, sounded
awesome. mot inspector commented how good the v8 sound was, and passed it.

Obviously the tester was deaf.

If he wasn't think he might have been after the emissions test. Lol but it did pass with no advisorys lol

Should have failed it for being louder than a car of the same kind fitted with a standard exhaust. But there you go.
