range rover L322 2003 4.4 which oil are you using in your engine in uk ?
the owners manuals on the l322 offer conflicting advice from one year to the next its a bit of a minefieldI'd use one that equals or exceeds the spec in the owners manual.
Use baby oil. Massages all the engine parts.
Only seen a couple of owners handbooks, they were both pretty much the same giving a wide choice of viscosities according to operating temperature meeting ACEA A3 and B3.the owners manuals on the l322 offer conflicting advice from one year to the next its a bit of a minefield![]()
The manuals I've seen quote:- 0W30, 0W40, 5W30, 5W40, 5W50 according to temperature range. 5W30 or 5W40 cover the UK temperature range nicely.its the viscosities that they cant make up their minds on the early manuals recomend 0w30 ow40 etc then they go to 5w30 5w40 etc then even up to a 10w? there seems to be a train of thought that 0w is good for a brand new engine but even this may be too thin and contributes to early vanos failure and some experts have the opinion that 10w should be used, i went for the middle ground![]()
