Hi, Having my Freelander diagnosed as needing a replacement Fuel Pump after it failed to start and the Engine Malfunction light coming on, it now has a new Fuel Pump, starts first turn of the key, BUT the warning light stays on.
Do you have to reset them?
Do I have some other problem?
The new Pump is not a genuine Land Rover part, does this make any difference?
Any help would be appreciated
Dave

You need a fault code reader/clearing device to reset the MIL (warning light) quite expensive to buy to reset a light but may be cost effective in the long run...

Thanks Fake Elvis,
But do you think it"s ok to drive my Freelander with this light on?
2000/2001 Freelander TD4S auto 110k.

I think you might find another emissions related fault code. Once Lp fuel pressure has been restored the light should have gone off.

Due to the age of your TD4, its likely that one of the cheaper universal OBDII readers will not work on your Freelander - try to borrow one rather than buy.

Good point, the light went off by itself on mine when I fitted the new pump.
