disco dan

about 2 weeks ago my 200 tdi engine started getting a bit lazy on start up, all the time i've had the disco its always fired on the first turn of the engine, then it was taking a few turns for it to fire, i tried putting the glow plugs on a couple of times to see if it made any difference but it didn't, then today with no warning it just cut out, and took a couple of minutes to get is started again, and it's done it a few times since, i had a look around under the bonnet but cant see any fuel leaks or splits in any pipes or anything else obvious, and when i revved it hard it cut out again as the revs died of, i've got it booked in for someone to have a look at on wednesday, but is there anything i can check myself in the mean time, does it sound like anything obvious to you? thanks

If it's not fuel filter or lift pump then it could also be corroded fuel pipes on top of the tank. There could be pin holes here that is allowing air to be sucked in.

blocked/pin holed fuel lines , filter , holed lift pump diaphram , stop solonoid playing up or wiring to it ( loose ) just as a start to look for :)

thanks guys, i was hoping it was something simple, i've booked it in to be looked at by our local diesel expert, at work on nights this week, so no time to look myself,
