Hi Guys.

O/s front window on my P38 won't close and displays message that it's "not set". All the others work fine. Where should I start ? Wife says it went down ok but stopped halfway up and wouldn't go any further. Is it motor or the outstation ?

Hi forgot to say, can't hear the motor turning or attempting to turn. No grinding noises so I would guess the regulator's ok. Haven't taken panel off yet though

sounds like the window regulator and/or motor is stuffed, you'll need to check for power and earths etc to confirm

check fuses first though

if the regulator is badly worn you probably wont hear it turning as its not touching anything, the best way to check if its knackered is to try and pull the window up or down slightly by hand if it then moves by pressing the button then the regulator is missing some teeth if not then check the motor.

Still haven't had chance to look yet but I have got it to move intermittently. More motor than regulator I think. May be even wiring or connections. Will let you know.
