if i was to bypass the egr on a td4 with the item on ebay . what happens with the other pipe that faces toward the back of the engine. and is the 8mm pipe just blanked off the same if so why do i need to buy the new item from ebay and what difference will it make other than just blanking the pipe off.

Good question earthling. . . .reet the egr valve is a air [vacuum] solenoid that recirculates burnt fuel back into manifold ,the idea is to double burn emissions and make the engine more environment friendly, . . . .truth is its a crap design and it actually doe's the opposite ,fill up with black oily crud causing a poor inlet breathing un fings, if you take any td4 egr apart it will be full of ****e . . . .best thing is to clean it up if yer really brave take off plastic inlet manifold and really clean that as well, swafega gel is best for this job [its a very messy job] so loads of rags. . . .un just disconnect yer egr by disconnecting the small vacuum pipe and plug it ,job done, if you feel the need for the blank then fit that [no difference really] they say the small actuator might restrict air flow [load er tosh] if yer worried just grind it out and you have the same as the blank, the only advantage of the blank is ,its clean really. . . . .

thanks this will be the next on my list is the actuator whats inside the egr tube. i fitted new depresion filter today and new intercooler pipes so egr sorting and inlet manifold clean next.
