Ok, yesterday I must have eaten my wheaties, because I managed to wrestle to hex heads out and insert the blanking plate. My skin is still fully intact, and it was not too tough a task. Living in one of the strictest car countries in the world, I am not allowed to remove the EGR system. (Switzerland). My question is. What else do I need to do..if anything? Can I just leave it with the blanking plate (and not tell em), do I need to disable anything else, or will my car run just fine now?

Just leave the plate in. No exhaust gas can pass into the manifold. If you have to get it tested at anytime you can take the plate out again.

Thanks for the info. I am looking forward to monitoring the fuel consumption and power take up. Many thanks for the information.
