I've just removed my ECU to check for any more oil in the loom, and noticed small screwdriver marks all around the 'lid' on the ECU itself. I'm concerned now, that at some point in the cars previous life, someone has been tinkering around with the ECU. The car is a 2004 TD5 Manual, and sticker on the ECU shows NNN500250

When I had hold of a Nanocom One the other month, I did manage to download what I assume is the map file, but as I don't have the Nanocom or any diagnostic equipment anymore, the file I have is useless.

Is it possible for someone else to read this .map file and determine if it's the original one as supplied by Land Rover, or whether it's been changed?

Perhaps more likely that someone had the lid off to check for oil getting in. I did exactly that and as the cover is very soft alloy, mine is marked.

The good news is that despite oil in the red plug, there was none inside my ECU.

Hopefully that's the reason for the screwdriver marks. :)

Considering your ECU is a post 2002 one there would be zero point to open it up. Mapping on post 02 models is done via the OBD port.

Only pre 02 ECUs need to be opened to map.

I can tell from the map file if it's had a remap, bob it over if you like, attachment or PM me for e-mail.
