Hi all,

Just put in a recon LT77 on my D90 as it suffered the dreaded main shaft wear due to the input gear not being lubricated!! Nice box thought from Ashcroft, highly recomended.

Now my concern is whether my transfer box is ok. Originally I tried it all out with no props on the TF box and only the front shaft was driving in either hi or lo. However in diff lock Hi and Lo both turn fine. I needed the transport so put it all back together. So tonight I thought I would have a quick look and parked in against a tree to confirm if I had a problem, when I had it in gear the front diff works and only one front tyre was turning, but no drive on either of the rear wheels.

Does this mean my TF box is knacked or is it something simple??

Try it against the tree with the diff lock in.
You only need one wheel to stop and thats it you lose traction with an open diff.

you have changed input gear in the transfer box as well as gear box ?

Yes, new cross drilled one, I'm using the old input gear as a nice pen holder!!

Brilliant idea - I think I'll just have to get one out my old LT230 this weekend!
