I am changing my Rad this weekend and have noticed that the drive belt is quite cracked. So have decided to replace it while I have lots of room to play with.

Firstly are there any hints and tips I should know that will make my life easier?
Secondly as its the diesel I will need to remove that Air Con belt so will change also. Rave states that I will need to apply 6 lbf.ft of tension onto the belt, so how best to do/judge that as it looks like they are using an allen key in the Rave diagram?

You mean the aircon belt tension. With a torque wrench or it can just be guesstimated. 6 lb ft is not a lot.

You'll find the aircon is just an offset wheel. It doesn't give a lot of change, just enough slack to force the belt off. It just nips up with almost no force at all.

Serpentine belt dead easy. Just remember ridges go on ridged rollers and smooth side of belt goes on smooth rollers.
