I'm scratching my head with this one. ... Opened my landy one day, went for a drive, when I tried to get the door open, I found I had knocked the internal lock down with my elbow, I tried to pull it up but it wouldnt come so I couldn't open the door, I managed to get the lock up by force and the door opened as usual, I have replaced the barrel, door handle and internal door catch but still have the same problem, with the door open and simulating a shut door using a screw driver, Still the same problem, strip it all down all parts work fine (they are all new parts so they should do) The internal push button is no longer on and still the same. If you loosen the three bolts on the door catch I can get it to lock and unlock but it is very stiff, it always locks fine, just wont unlock, any ideas anyone? :frusty:

My passenger side is exactly the same - I'm just going to get a new lock as it drives me insane.

A new lock didn't work for me, the only thing I haven't replaced are the linkages themselves, I have found if I loosen the three catch bolts slightly it works fine?

Don't want to assume anything but have you checked the hinge pins if they have play in them they make the door drop and can cause this type of prob:D

Hey Gaz, the hinges are new, the lock does it even if the door is open and a screwdriver is used to work the catch. I can't figure it out, just about everything is new (including the door) It's just about got me pulling my hair out now!

:)IF by loosening the screws you can get it to work can you not put some washers as spacers in between the lock and door? Then tighten it back up onto the washers

Hi Gazz, good call but I have tried this also, adding 1mm spacers, when fully tightened, the lock sticks, loosen the screws and it works

Sounds like the lock is twisting slightly when you tightening it and trapping the workings. it might just be a case of trial and error with the spacers might need more on one corner than another:)

I will give it a go now, try anything at the minute, just can't see what is causing it.
