si I didn't have time to do my gearbox flush today so started looking at a couple of other issues I have.
The key doesn't unlock the door so I took out the lock part of the handle and the spindle that goes to the latch doesn't turn,
I gave the spindle a wobble and the back of the barrel assembly fell apart, the barrel itself is ok but the end of the spindle is broken as are other parts of that assembly.
I doubt a second hand one will be available as it would be sold as a lock set with ecu etc so , are replacement parts available new or would I have to buy a whole new lock assembly probably at a ridiculous price?

I bought a S/H lock mech from ebay...was about £25 I think....the spindle from the barrel is a simple affair from memory, I'll have to look at my Photos to see how it is put together to see if it is simple enough to only replace the spindle.....

I did a How To on chagning the lock mech, dead simples!

I stand a corrected, it is not just a simple spindle it is a bit more than that....so which part has broken on yours??

It's actually most of that mechanism that's broken, it looks like maybe it's had a wack. Attempted break in maybe. The barrel still works ok but everything from there to the spindle is smashed including the end of the spindle

Bought an x5 lock repair kit off eBay that most parts fit apparently, but then got offered a complete handle and lock cheap on eBay so bought that as well. Cheap easy fix hopefully
