I have a 98,p38 with original lights and indicators , I also have a 94 with the later clear lights and indicators,do I stop them to keep the 94 original?

Both 94 and 98 should have orange indicator housings with clear bulbs..

I'm all for originality so yes, i'd put orange ones in the older one, 94 is one of the very first P38's is she on an M reg?

Originality is best (IMHO) but do what pleases YOU the most or is the least inconvenient.
We are only here once, so enjoy as much as you can Alan.

Down to personal choice, I have a 99 with orange and a late 2000 with clear, I'm happy with either as long as they work.

i never really understood the obsession with pretending lights are different colours.. a bit like people who 'must' change the numberplate smaller, different shape, different style lettering etc
i also don't see why we need LED brake lights, indicators etc. standard bulbs are cheap and easy to replace

I'd just leave as is. Neither should be clear as far as I am aware. I actually like the clear lenses on mine but I wouldn't worry if they weren't.

If you are worried about it i have a set of orange ones in the garage that could find there way up to Liverpool as brother in law lives there and do you a swap for the clear ones

Hi Brian, Thanks but not worried about it.just think seeing the black one was first registered on the 2nd of Dec 1994 I thought I would keep it original. I could swap the Orange ones off the red 98,

Dam i dont get a spare pair of clear ones


Sounds like the best option there, just swap round what you have got

I have clear lights and 1 clear indicator. Unless you are gonna sell it for top money to Enry no one will notice.
Does take few years off the age-look

If it’s on your mind you know you want to. Can just put them back if you ever have reason too. Fiddly job though
