Hi All,
I have just finished my DIESEL engine rebuild and got it all back together again. .Luckily, it fired up straight away. However I have got a small amount of white smoke and knocking, indicating a diesel fault somewhere. I have had the injectors all serviced, so now looking back at the pump, which however safely was secured has no doubt moved. My question is.. as I have replaced all the chains, sprockets, bearings and new head, can I class this now as a NEW engine as mentioned in RAVE (less than 20k) when setting up the timings on the pump. I am convinced it will be out of timing slightly now that all this done so just need to set this and the cam sprocket tool gap as well (or not!?)

.95 mm lift on pump cam and no spacer under cam locator with new chains.
