Hi guys. Been a while since I've been on here so thought I'd post up a few queries.
1st one is rear diff mount is cream crackered. So I'm going to follow hippos how to guide but should I replace all three or just the shagged centre one?
2nd is the drivers side driveshaft seal is also cream crackered. Read through rave and their saying use a splitting tool. Now I'm guessing as it's a land rover there would be an easier way, hammer with a block of wood against the wheel as to pop the driveshaft out along with the wheel hub assembly springs to mind? But is there a better way to seperate these two items?
Also I'm guessing the oil will run out of the diff when the driveshaft becomes free??
Last but not least is the rear window and how it doesn't seem to drop enough when open the door to get in the boot. Then when shutting the door the window snags the plastic frame and the motor tries to push the glass up and makes a horrible noise so I'm now having to push the glass in so it pops up where it should be.

1, I would replace all three, although saying that I have 3 new ones and aint got around to fitting yet

3, you aint seen my posts on hotwiring the rear wiper then,lol

On the rear window, replace the whole mechanism its the best way, I tried replacing the wire only, which was a waste of time, then had to do the whole lot, been great since.

I replaced the cables on my rear window 2 weeks ago. Piece of cake to do and have had no problems with it since. But I am a mechanic/recovery truck driver.... So that may explain why I didn't have any problems.

I've replaced the whole setup in the rear door. Got it off eBay after failing with a wire kit. All worked ok but has now started playing up with it not dropping enough.

I brought a new regulator before I realised I could get a repair kit. I fitted it with ease then thought I would repair my old one and sell it on. I lost my temper with it and it ended up in the bin. I think my pulley had some abuse aswell from the broken cable so maybe it was for the best

Your driveshaft seal method is the unofficially approved method and the same one I'll be using soon!! Think I would do all diff mounts while at it. Had varying degrees of success with the window regularor repair kits I.e., used them a few times but when came to do front passenger door reently, I went through 2 kits and despite everything seeming to be ok both times, the wire promptly snapped, a new regulator off fleabay worked no bother. Dodgy pulleys/crap wire/wire too thick?? Fck knows. Try repair kit first, might save some pennies.
