Hi guys,

Still on the hunt, and have changed track slightly and looking at 2015ish 2.2 SD4 RR Discovery sports.

I have noticed a couple for sale that have had the engine replaced by LR assumed under warranty and wondered why they appear to be more of an issue in the DS than the FL2 which again, i assume uses an identical engine?

Production cost cutting maybe.

The freelander unit was a citroen/peugeot /Ford unit. A good engine when looked after👍
For the later disco "lite" I've no idea if it's the same unitðŸĪ”

Sport had 2.2 until 2015 I believe, I have ingenium 2017 timing chains and electrical are the biggest issue with 2.0l so I'm told
2.2 are more expensive hold their value
Evoque and sport share many parts
Great to drive but not as smooth on Norfolk roads as D3 or D4 all the best in your search
