Fuse 14 on the internal fusebox is for the instruments and reversing lights. There should be a panel that shows which fuse does what.

yes sorry i know that i am trying to find out if anyone knows of any common faults to look for. ive tested temp sender, oil sender, fuel sender etc

Fuse 14 protects instruments, clock and speed transducer according to my owners handbook.

As the speed transducer is located outside underneath the vehicle on the side of the transferbox you could have a problem with the electrical connection/plug for that device.

It also does the speed transducer for the speedo but they don't tell you that anywhere.
Possible cable damage to the transducer cable, rubbing etc.
