Have Discovery 3 and the drivers door locking mechanism seems to be becoming stiff - when I lock the jeep it doesn't lock the drivers door. Instead what I have to do is lock it manually reaching across from the passengers side and then lock the rest of the jeep with the key.
It only appears to be stiff because when you press the button it makes an attempt to lock it but it just isn't enough. On the other hand when you unlock it it is able to open the drivers door fine it just it can't lock it.
I reckon it just needs to be oiled - it that a simple job like older models just involving removing the door card or is the mechanism located behind the window regulator making things more complicated.
