I have found a black box 100 x 75 x 30mm strapped to the rear of the engine compartment fuse/relay board. It has a serial port output, a red supply linked to the +ve battery terminal, a black neutral and approx 6 yellow wires tapped into the ECU plug by the battery.

Seems like it must be an aftermarket chip upgrade?

The only identifying features on the box are:

Discovery-4
P.D. 5 Zyl.

Anyone recognise this unit?

Thanks for your email - I have now posted some pictures. It doesn't look like the Tunit TD5 unit. Is it an older version of what is on their website?

its defo not standard but possision and the wiring would point to a chip 1 thing you may want to think about is telling you insurance about it or removing it but thats up to you

maybe-call them, they might be able to match a serial number or something?
