I was just wondering if anyone could help I am going to replace my gear box and diff oil next week, I have been advised mtf 94 for the gearbox and 75/90 for the diff.
Is this the best option or does anyone have a better solution?
Also has anyone ever used Lucas additive in either? I used the one for the engine when I had my disco serviced and it was excellent.

Thanks.

how do you know additive was excellent ? the main thing with all oils is regular changes with transmission and diffs at least once a year they dont need additive ,ep 90 or 80w90 but 75w90 isnt that much different gear box atf dexron 2 or 3 or mtf94 are fine

When I bought the car off my friend he had just serviced it he used castrol 10w40 and it seemed really noisy so I replaced the oil with the Lucas 10w40 plus the additive and it is much quieter and seems to run alot better, maybe that's just my opinion but I will stick to the same oil again next service.
This is why I was asking in general what people use and think is best as you get told so many different variations it's unbelievable.
Thanks for your reply I think I'll go with the mtf and ep90.
