I'm planning on changing one of the rear hubs on my 2001 disco this weekend and was after some advice regards removal of the hub. Will i need a hub puller or any other specialist tools to remove it and is there any advice anyone can share with me? Already looked for other threads but theres nothing really relevant to the job in hand.

Heres my front hub write up, pretty much the same for the rears, you will need a puller to split the hub from the axle, the manual tells you to remove the whole lot and split it on the bench, bit of a backwards idea "imo", just spilt them on the car, that way you don't disturb any axle oil seals etc.

NOTE you will need a biiiiiiiiiiiig torque wrench to re-torque the hub nut

and you will need a new o ring and on the rear the bearing is the seal so dont need to worry about it if you remove the hub and shaft in 1 piece but UPs guide is a big help if you have never done one before

I bought an O ring aswell, the only problem i think is the lack of a torque wrench, Maybe the local tool hire shop has one! Thanks for the advice folks.!
