Going to get some prices on a new battery for a 300TDI what amp rating do i need to be looking at?

The standard battery is a 072

Get the biggest tractor battery that you can fit in the space available!

Yup this battery number nonsence is to enable wumin to change them.

Trewy and I and others stress this all the time, "GET THE BIGGEST YOU CAN AFFORD"

Don't go to Halfords, if you have a costco near you, £60 will buy a kick ass battery.

If you have an agricultural shop near you go there and get a tractor battery (they get quite big and don't fit in the disco battery bay without modification) so measure the bay first and go in armed with sizes.

If you can get a 100Ah, 700 CCA battery you buy it, simple as - biggest is better here.

you might be able to fit a numax in the original tray. have a look.

Numax CXV-X 1000 Amp

good stuff by all accounts.

just pulled this off x eng too so will deff fit:

Battery Dimensions:
260mm Wide, 170mm Deep, 200mm Tall plus 25mm for the terminals.
The Numax CXV-X is roughly the same size as an Optima or an 072 type Battery.
They fit in standard Range Rover / Disco trays and two will fit under the seat of a Defender.
