Just bought a 00 td5, I notice pulling into the drive last night that the lock was quite bad. When I was stopped in the driveway I noticed that full lock to the left is two full turns from center while full lock to the right is only 1 and half turns from center. Dosent sound like anything is rubbing and the tyre size is standard

Any idea

The steering lock is pretty bad on Disco's, sounds normal to me!

it can be adjusted , but unless its causing probs i would leave it untell you need track rod end or other work on steering

There were 2 different sizes of steering stops fitted by land rover the early D2's with the thinner tyres had shorter stops and and the later ones with wider tyres or 18" wheels had longer ones, ones I wounder if you have 2 different ones fitted. Maybe had a second hand hub fitted at some point.
