MJI Well-Known Member Oct 3, 2015 #1 Doesn't help that the mechanism appears to be loose to the floor pan. But it is a nightmare to get into and out of diff lock. Lots of penetrating oil sprayed over it. All jammed, but I think the cable is OK, is there anything else to go wrong?

MJI Well-Known Member Oct 3, 2015 #3 Well followed the change mechanism guide and got it out, and the diff lock movement was seized. Can get diff lock by pushing and pulling cable. Freed off with oil and shoved grease into the hole

MJI Well-Known Member Oct 4, 2015 #4 Had to buy a new riveter, and some 5mm x 16mm rivets. Driving to Halfords with gear levers loose! And I cocked up on reassembly and swapped the cables, luckily before I had got far
