Recently put reconditioned injectors and new diesel filter on my 2.5 NA.
When trying to bleed to fuel lines it seems that the priming lever didn't do much, so i did a search on here and turned the crank nut a quarter and tried ****ing the lever again. Still nothing at the filter. After about an hour of moving the crank followed by 5 minutes ****ing i gave up and just tried to start it, which it did with a bit of spluttering.

My question is, was i fiddling with the wrong lever (red circle in the photo) and/or is it possible for the lift pump to be working but the manual prime lever doesn't?

Or you may just like to look at the nice shiney injectors, i know i did. Ticks over perfectly now and i didn't even need the angle grinder to finish the job (which is a first).

Its the right lever, i ran out of diesel once and it did take a minute or two to get fuel thru the system..but tbh that system pretty much sorts itself out. f it starts fine now and tickover is good then leave it alone.

you ****ed it the right way?
think your type had to be pushed down all the way to the block.
other types pull upwards and not as far.

I think I was doing it right, it seemed to push down towards the block. But to be honest there didn't seem more resistance in one direction than the other and no positive stop.
Thanks for the comments and as it's seems to be working ok, I'll stop worrying about it. If I meet someone with a series vehicle, maybe I'll ask if I can **** their lever as a comparison.

On some lift pumps if there is pressure on the injector pump side (ie theres no air in the system and fuel is pressurised) the lever doesnt appear to do owt as the diaphragm is held up by the pressurised fuel.

it is also quite common for out side lever not to do anything while cam operated lever works ,diaphragm isnt held up but once pressure achieved your just pressing against the spring
