What an awful surprise to find that my 1998 Disco has a small amount of diesel leaking underneath. A few weeks ago on the North circular, a lorry dropped a massive amount of steel wool which wrapped itself around my propshaft, the AA came to the rescue and cut it all away. Although it took 2 hours to remove it seemed that nothing was damaged, but yesterday when I cleaned my air con nipples by the gearbox I noticed a strong smell of diesel and it was confirmed by a drip. Luckily it doesn't seem to leak when in motion, only when I've stopped. The engine and underbody is filthy at the moment, but when it's been steam cleaned where should I start to trace the leek?

Any ideas
