hi i have a s3 diesel engine running but every 20 miles or so it puts to nuch oil up into the rockers, and fills the space in the rocker cover, then forces down inlet side into the engine, making clouds of smoke . if you run it with out rocker cover on and it gose make the jet of oil hits the wings. any iders please.

one jet or oil or pushed out by haevy crankcase pressure ,oil is returned to sump down push rod side,iwould expect with rocker cover off that oil would be sprayed across engine bay ,is engine breather blocked (cap on rocker cover) is engine producing too much crank case pressure (too much ring/bore wear or valve/s not opening correctly )

How can you tell if the crankcase pressure is normal? It sounds very much like back pressure from worn piston rings.
