Anyone know of any reasons why Dextron 3 cannot be used in the ace system. If anyone has tried this, what's the outcome? Any problems?
Even landrover themselves cannot answer this question except to say Cold climate fluid is recommended but as the cols climate fluid has no composition on the bottle, they're just as unsure.

Anyone successfully used it?

Didn't know about that. Also, Shhh don't tell my car it cannot have Dexron 3 on the ACE

Well, ACE fluid can be the same as PAS, which can definitely be Dexron 3. Just make sure it's mineral.

I won't grass you up to your car for using it.

What I'd like to establish is how many are using it in their system & are their any dectrimental effects?

you can use it or dexron 2, i used it for a long time,also in the pas system

I've changed the fluid 3 weeks ago. I literally spent two days researching all over the internet what would be the best fluid. The conclusion is: Dex 3 Mineral! (Never use synth)

Dexfon lll is synthetic... Always has been.

One google search and I was able to find a mineral dexron 3... https://www.penriteoil.com.au/products.php?id_categ=23&id_subcateg=176&id_products=35
Also It's not dexfon, it's dexron btw.

Your link only refers to their product, not Dexron lll which is a specification... what ever the brand, and of course it's Dexron I know that after 28 years with an auto Land Rover, but my iPad's spell checker unfortunately doesn't. ... Next

all the cases when i've seen pump failures they were running on ATF not on the dedicated fluid, though i can't confirm that's the reason but i'd not put anything else than the dedicated fluid cos in my area there are several cases when the temp goes below -20*C and then dexron is not recommended... for 10 quid savings which is the difference in price for 2 litres IMO doesnt worth the risk...what i can confirm is that a friend who wanted to go cheap used dexron and his system is much noisiesr than mine
