Hi

I found an early Defender Diesel (not sure of the year) which I hope to buy. Has not been used for a few years and the propshaft is gone.

Found a late '70's LWB (petrol) with a good propshaft.

My questions are:

Will a '70 LWB petrol prop fit on exactly on to the
Defender?

Is it difficult to remove/fit?

What tools will I need?

Sorry to sound a bit dumb but it's my first Landy and there's only a few on this Caribbean island so one must be creative!

Any other tips as to how best to start it after 2 years or another other tips!. Not clued in to diesel motors but I assume a fuel / radiator flush would not hurt.

Many thanks friends

would have said definetly not on the propshaft

and the flush idea would be a good move
oh and :welcome2:

As Buckshot says - highly unlikely re the prop

If it's been standing that long yes drain, flush and refill

Make sure battery is well charged

Would also suggest turning the engine over by hand - big spanner on crank - to make sure nothing is seized.

Good luck, oh, and WELCOME!
