Hi All,

I've searched the forums and a few posts mention the best engine oil viscosity is SAE 5w/30 for a Defender 90 TD5.

However in my trusty Haynes manual, its said this is for non-td5 models and to rather use SAE 5W/40 for td5 models??

So i'm a little confused, what do you guys recommend? Follow the book or the forum?

Use Mobil 1 in my Td5 and Tdci..
But I use tractor Super Universal in the 200..

I use 10w-40 in mine because I bought a 200 litre oil drum of Castrol at a receivers sale for less than half price. I change oil every 5k miles and never had a problem.
