Hi all

I'm about to purchase a mid to late 1990's defender 90 station wagon mostly for work but would occasionaly like to carry my 3 year old daughter in the back and presume the side facing seats would not be suitable/ legal for mounting her child seat?

Is this correct and if so what are the options I see that the latest defenders have forward facing, might it be possible to purchase and fit one of these or are there other options?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

cheers
Luke

Try a search on here. This subject has been covered loads lately.

There is only one retro fit, approved fold down available as far I know & that's made by Exmoor trim. It's also bluddy expensive. There's other options such as fitting a cheaper non approved fold down in the back fer yer Mrs or whoever & your young 'un riding in the front. This is the way I'm doing it & seems to be the safest option balanced against cost.

spoken from the man in the know ;) morning marcus.

you could always fit a centre seat and seatbelt for the lil un'. if its the cheapest option your after.

check ebay for tings like that. forward facing seats go for a bomb on there though, so might be worth sourcing these elsewhere if thats the route you want to take.

Mornin' Griff.

Nah, I like me little boy in the passenger seat, a cubby box to rest me arm on & me girl in the back to look after the dogs!

Thanks for the replies I did try a search but found nothing but have since read the instruction and found a fair bit!
The Exmoor Trim option seems the safest but very pricey!
I wonder how easy it is to fit and if it will intrude much into the load area when folded as I need room for chainsaws etc.
I will take the little one along for the next test drive and seen where best to put her.

Thanks again
Luke
