does anyone know what the minimum tyre size is for a defender 110 is with 16" steel modular wheels?

I heard it was 235/85/16, but was hoping 235/70/16 would be ok.

I'm looking at Insa Turbo Ranger tyres and want to keep costs down if I can.

The only difference between those two tyres is the overall diameter (height). As long as the width of the modular is suitable for a 235 tyre then either would fit. However, depending on what has been fitted before, you will need to check the speedo is still accurate as that will be altered if a different diameter tyre is used.

But they would look bloody silly on a 110.

There isn't really a minimum, but you do want something rated for the weight/loading of a 110.

Standard sizes are 235/85R16, 265/75R16, 7.50 x 16

You can fit smaller, but it will probably look odd. e.g. 205/80R16 or a 235/75R16.

Are the savings really enough to do this though?
