Is there a country code in the becm that runs daytime running lights at all?

If not then my P38 is experiancing one of those 'mad lecky' moments that only a P38 can suffer because both front and rear lights are on all the time when driving. They still flick between side and headlights on the switch but are on full headlights when the switch is in the off position, they turn off as soon as you turn the ignition switch off.

I'm hoping it's not the start of becm failure because it lost sync for the first time today and it has the latest RF receiver. Took 2 attempts with the sync mate to get it going as well. Lets hope it's just a glitch.

No wet carpets. Air con drains clear and o-rings changed not long ago. Although I guess it's never a long time before it goes wrong again with these friggin motors!!

There is a daytime running lights setting but the headlights should not be on main beam with the switch in the off position.
You could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, make sure you have the EKA code and radio code before you try this.

Sorry should have made myself clearer, dipped headlights come on in the off position not main beam. Main beam seems to be working as normal.

There have been developments that seem to suggest all is not well with the becm. Reversing lights come on when in park position as well as reverse, luckily they go off when in drive. The reverse dipped mirror feature is also now engaging in park but again return to normal when in drive. And also the temp gauge sat below halfway for the first time today, whilst appreciating this could be down to other issues I'm assuming the electrical side of the temp gauge goes through the becm.

Going to try disconnecting the battery and see if that has the desired results.

DLRs only turn on front side lights and nothing else. Your BeCM is damaged. There is a chap on here (Rick-the-Pick) who is the go to guy for all BeCM issues.

This guy had some interesting light issues which were all down to the BeCM. The lord god almighty fixed it without even seeing the car, all he needed was the BeCM for the weekend. CallRova | Range Rover and Jaguar Diagnostics - His webbeh.

Good luck.

You sure that DRL is side lights? I thought it was dip beam, that's what the regs call for in countries where it's obligatory.

I want to try the disconnect battery route before ripping the becm out for investigation but I can't find my radio code at the mo (Blank in the handbook although the EKA code is there)

The only real issue at the moment is the duff temp gauge, don't want to be running rich. Can anybody confirm if the ecu will still be getting correct info for mixture etc and it's just the gauge that is giving duff info? Heat in hoses and rad seems consistent and thermostat seems to be working ok.

Dash temp gauge and ECU temp sender are nothing to do with each other. Quite separate.
