Hi all want peoples opinions. Just doing a gearbox swap, changing the LT77 to R380. When I was swapping the gearbox mounts removed the r380's twin mounts and replaced with the single lt77 mount. The problem occured when I accidently wound one of the wrong bolts into the mounting, I had a choice of 3 orriginal bolts and one was longer, couldnt remember which one went where and in my haste put the long one in the wrong hole. The bolt was 5mm longer then correct bolt and I beleive penetrated the alloy gearbox case, I only noticed when I realised I had put the longer one in the wrong hole so I removed it and oil started to leak out. I then assembled with the correct bolt and obviously the hole has been blocked and problem solved, as mount unlikely to be removed apart from on removal of gearbox. Do people think I should be overly concerned about potential alloy swarf in the bottom of the box..... on a side note I checked if hole went right through and it did not probably a fracture at the end of the bolt hole in the case, amazing how little resistence it took to wind the bolt in too far! Guess theres not allot I can do to fix it now....
