hi all this is my first post on here so dont take the p**s to much. i want to put a cummins 6b in to my rangie/109 hybrid i know a few have done this using the leyland truck box but has anyone fitted it to a landy or rangie box i know i will have to be careful with the torque this motor has if any one knows any one who has done it this way please let me know

I think some of the US Cummings powerd trucks use the Torqueflite auto box

no box with it he has used that in one of his other trucks motor has done less than 30 thou i have finealy ground him down to letting me have it

I cut and ally welded a lt85 bellhousing to fit it on a non turbo cummins on my first conversion back in 2000, worked ok but always a worry.
A turbo cummins will kill any lr gearbox so you use the zf 5 42 which would are fitted to daf 45 and ford f350 pickup trucks.
the problem is the 18" flywheel with large clutch which really needs a sae pattern bell housing

I know the 6B well (my Dad used to be a Cummins dealer) they are a great engine in the right vehicle, I would have thought there were better engines for a Landy for any application, if you have one lying around though I guess it would be rude not to put it in there!

Pressbrake; did the weight make much difference on the ones you've done?

Not really, that 6x6 cummins on my website still weighed less than a disco 3!
