I'm really after a TD5 double cab, but the prices on them are largely over my budget (About £8k), or they're higher mileage than I would like.

However, TD5 110 vans are comfortably within my budget by and large, so I'm wondering how expensive it is to buy the double cab bodies, and how much hard work it is to convert?

Not bothered about different colours, because I'd be re-spraying the end product anyway, either way

probably cheaper to save up and get a double cab mate as the whole rear tub will need to be replaced as well as rear doors and roof and back window panel.
takle a look in the for sale section there is a really nice 1 with extraordinary low mileage

You mean the 27k mile one buck?

I'd love it, but it's sadly priced £3k above my available budget of £8k, otherwise I'd be knocking on the seller's door with a grin and a bag of cash!

Guess I'll just have to keep topping up the fund and keep my eyes open then. There was a very nice one on LRO forums for £7.3, but it went at the weekend.

just keep watching the bay mate thats what i did with both my td5's i've had i got my currant double cab for £10750 including the vat but have seen a few 300tdi versions on there when i was scouting for 1 (tbh wanted a 15P td5 engine version )

Matt,
I've done this conversion, it's not hard work, everything bolts on and off, but sourcing the parts is v difficult.
I did put a quite detailed list on here a while ago if you can find it.
Let me know if you need anymore help.
