it should go with face as shown in pic facing the rear of flywheel, it comes with a guide as lips naturally form a smaller circle than crank boss and its not good to pry over with a little screw driver etc ,err1440 gasket is worth fitting between block and flywheel housing

Thanks, that's buggered it I have put it in the other way, don't think I will be able to drift it out with out damage. Are these better or should I order an original spec one. Should I seal between clutch housing and gearbox.

in you think of a seal as a C in cross section the open side allways goes to the oil ,they are generally a better seal, as lr has allways had that issue with oil leaks at rear of engine like the gasket they all help, normally bell housing isnt sealed but its not a bad idea to seal bellhousing with a little hylomar or rtv silcone etc

Would you know what the seal is called, been looking on paddocks etc but can't find it, it's for a 5 bearing engine. The err1440 gaskets I have found say for disco are they all the same.

yes same gasket you just cut off the lower part below edge of block bottom,which seal ?

The clutch housing seal that goes over the crank boss.

err1535 supercedes to err2532, either should be available and not all err2532s are dowty type

Stick to the Dowty. Dunsfold and Turners both recommended I use Dowty as opposed to original Land Rover.
Land Rover originals are (or at least were) not lasting more than a short while.
