hi any 1 got a guesstimate what id expect 2 pay 4 a replacement clutch 4 my mplate v8 disco? only noticed it 2day and its almost on the floor

Are you sure this is not a hydraulic release problem? Normally when a clutch wears out, it slips with the pedal at or almost at its uppermost position.
It may be worth trying to bleed the clutch fluid before jumping headlong into changing the clutch.

hi thanx 4 the replies . seems 2 b an hydraulic issue as i got in my disco pulled up the pedal with my foot n hey presto its back 2 normal . could it b the master or slave cylinder leaking?

Try a master cylinder check, and make sure the return spring for the pedal actually works.
The pedal has no adjusters whatever - the hydraulics should end up self-adjusting.

The master cylinder comprises a body with a central bore. Two ports in the body connect the bore to the hydraulic feed pipe to the slave cylinder and the brake/clutch fluid reservoir. A piston is fitted in the bore and has an external rod which is attached to the clutch pedal with a pin. Two coiled springs on the clutch pedal reduce the effort required to depress the pedal.
Hmmmmmm....... I don't like the look of that last bit about coiled springs helping the pedal DOWN. What does the experts say about THAT?

If your m/c goes phut, the pedal will go to the floor and stay there. The springs have an 'over centre' action to help push the pedal down. Makes a big difference to the effort required. The newer pedal and box is often fitted to older Defenders.
Hang on! This is the Disco forum! I don't know whether the arrangement is the same on a Disco, though it seems as if it is.
Oh, and you don't need to change the clutch fork on a V8, it's made of cast iron and will never break like the tdi one.
