On my 1996 p38 4.6 I have started to notice that when I am manoevering slowly I get a single clunk from the steering it doesn't happen all the time as well initially I thought cv joint but I can't see anything obvious
Hopefully you guys have an idea where to look

I get the same thing every now and again still havnt found it gonna do the drag link next

Might be worth looking at the steering damper, just because it is quick to check and cheap.

Is it when reversing or turning a particular direction?

Done that, mostly when I reverse up my drive

Are the gate posts still vertical?

Gate posts my dear boy I have no idea the grounds man come out of the gate house n opens the gates for me I havnt looked at any posts

Hi all thanks for the replies sorry for not responding sooner but been out until now good thought about the damper will check it out tomorrow and yes the gate posts are still upright I think at least Jeeves hasn't said anything to the contrary also not when reversing but when turning left or right doesn't matter which way
