have a problem on my TD4 sport 05. under breaking get a clonk noise like metal on metal. its not constant just the one noise. it will vary in loudness depending upon speed etc

replaced caliper pins as thought this may have caused the movement to cause the noise but despite intial success it has started again.

anyone with any thought I would be really grateful?!

the holes in the pads may have worn? Replace the pads (both sides) and use a new fitting kit when you do it.

when I break initially it will make the noise if I release the break and then re-apply pressure it wont make it.

come on you lot i have this problem to, changed the pads and pins but it still clunks when breaking. :(

I know disco calipers are prone to wearing so that the pads slidecthrough onto the hub. Could this be it?

mine tends to make more of a whine than a clonk though.

Although recently i think shes grown to kinda like the 90... cos when its working it means she dnt have to give me lifts places!

well you see i think it must be transmission related, 'cos the faster i go the louder it gets!

It does get quite weary though.

whines about that an all...

he he he when mine is finally finished, ill have a 200watt head unit, a 150watt Amp (good one an all) and two 150watt (ish) subs...

He he he...

An before i get virtually raped for that, i enjoy my music loud, an have housemates. Ive spent bugger all on the stereo, so why not make it nice? :D

aye ill leave the high range to the passenger seat! he he he...
its quite subtle really...

thought this was funny, i pulled up outside the house one eve, parked up (a good 10/20 meters from the house) one of my house mates rekoned that her desk was vibrating from the stereo in my car... he he he...
