Hello everyone,
can these ventilation grilles be pulled out to the front? I would like to clean them.
How can I disinfect the air conditioning system?
Generally the complete ventilation system.
I have of course already replaced the pole filters.
Has anyone ever done this? Thanks

That center unit will pull straight out. πŸ‘

The way to get the vents out is to use two hook shaped tools. Large Allen keys are perfect. Insert them in between the vanes, rotate 90 degrees so they act on the rear of the vents and pull sharply out.

The plastic will be very brittle by now, so be careful. If you slip, you'll probably crack them!

RAVE mentions how to do it somewhere.... but it does just pull out. The ones on the left and right hand side are held in with a clip that will break the lugs off the fitting as soon as you try and remove it.

I can confirm, they are very brittle. You can buy aerosol cans of aircon/heater disinfectant. With the fan on full blast and the pollen filters removed, you spray it into the air intakes.

Thanks to all of you!

a question about β€˜Rave’ the descriptions are great.
Do you have to buy it? Is it software?

Getting them out isn't an issue. Getting them to sit right when you put them back can be. Easy with the dash out but not always so easy to get them locked in place otherwise.

I cannot remember what product I used off Amazon but you started the car with the recycle on max fan, pulled the cap and launched it into the footwell and just left it for 20 minutes. Open the car afterwards and open all the windows and your car is disinfected and smells like new.

Might have been called car-bomb?

These are easy to use, I do these for my clients cars with aircon.
Engine running,
Fan speed 1/2-3/4 speed,
Temp set to middle,
Set the heater to recycle with the aircon on. It comes on automatically with the recycle button on the 38'.
Close all the doors and windows and leave for about 20mins.

After that, run for a few minutes with the heater drawing fresh air and leave the windows open,
engine stopped and let the gas clear out of the car for a while. πŸ‘
