Hi Guys,
I have just replaced the timing belt on my 300TDI disco. when removing the timing belt cover i found that the front of the belt had been shreaded around the timing casing (looks like black candy floss!).
I know that this was a problem for the early 300TDI's, I also know that landrover sell a "fix" kit for about 200 quid,
does any one know what the fix involves? Given that i have just fitted a new belt can i just buy what ever adapts the belts?
The chap at the landrover garage said that if the fix had been done then the bolts would have yellow paint on them. Mine have yellow paint on and i have half an old belt and a timing casing that looks like a kid has shoved his candy floss into it. Was the chap talking do do?
