When i woke up this morning the sky was blue, the birds were singing and the squirrels were busy playing with there nuts, all was well with the world and i was glad to be alive
.
At around 9.30am i decided to go and move the range rover so as i could get me bus out to take dad for his hospital appointment at 1pm, So i pressed the alarm button, all the locks shot up and in i climbed, as i sat thinking "god this leathers a bit cold on me bum" I put the key in the ignition and turned it, But instead of the usual V8 roar all i got was a loud "CLICK"
, Oh sh*t i thought to meself, Dead battery, no jump leads, bus blocked in by two and a half tons of range rover, So i called the AA, they arrived within 20 minutes and declared that the battery was scrap
.
Anyhoo, he was indeed a very nice man and he ran me into Chesterfield where i purchased a new heavy duty battery for £80.00, When we got back home he fitted it to the beast (after modifying the clamp) and she roared into life once again, However, it then took him another 45 minutes to re-programme the ignition key to work the alarm and to reset all the windows and sunroof
.
So i was able to get dad to hospital with time to spare, when we got home i unloaded dad via the rear lift on the bus (its an 08 plate VW T5 Transporter, 130bhp Tiptronic Auto), I then proceded to start the range rover, it roared yet again into life and much to my surprise, the air suspension inflated within 4 seconds!, Now before fitting this new battery it was taking between 20 to 40 seconds to rise off its bump stops, So im now thinking that the pump was'nt getting enough juice for it to work at full capacity, Has anybody else noticed this after fitting a new battery ?, or am i going mental ?
Either way, its killed 2 birds with one stone today!
My miracle for next week is, "turning the water in the cooling system into anti freeze"!!!!!
