got the chance of buying a series 3 109, it has had a galv chassis fitted BUT it has been left in a field for at least 5 or 6 years i know the bulkhead might need some work but would the chassis have survived the neglect. i havent seen it yet but i have been told that the engine turns over just needs new fuel and a battery. Going to see it next week he wants £200 pounds for it. Forgot to say its a diesel.

Chassis should be okay but clutch may be seized, brakes wont work etc etc etc. Well worth the £200 though. Just be prepared for some work. Remember the photos later.

yea its gonna need a good going over but my main concern is the chassis and maybe the bulkhead
get some pics when i see it, the seller has a farm and his 110 is registered on red so i think the 109 would have been as well so ill make sure to get reciepts if i buy it.

How long ago was the chassis put on? As long as it hasnt been damaged before laying up it should be usable. Why was it laid up? If they went to the bother of re-chassis , the bulkhead may be sound but its really just speculation. Give it a good poking with a screwdriver anyway.
