I'm a complete LR newbie, I've wanted a Freelander for years and I have (eventually) recently bought a TD4 S on a 53 plate with facelift front end. Both the passenger side doors are locking with the key fob but not unlocking. I have tried using the key in the drivers door lock but it still only unlocks the drivers side. Is it likely to be something like a solenoid or something more sinister?
I don't have a great history with cars, and am hoping that this isn't going to be another never ending black hole for money.

First off welcome to Landyzone and feel free to Introduce yourself.
First turn the key to unlock the drivers door.
Second with the key in turn again to open to confirm all locks working.
Replace the battery for a fresh on in the remote fob.
While sitting inside on the front console there is a toggle switch for central locking.
press down and up to hear the door solenoids are working.
push all door locks down and open with each handle to confirm each work manually.
Again with a remote control open doors inside (press quickly five times before entering to sync with central systems first) to which are failing.
Hope this helps if any of the doors lock solenoid are failing the either a quick squirt of wd40 might be needed otherwise a quick search for for examples on how to replace door solenoids should help.
Regards John
