Hi when I bought my 97 300 tdi it had no fob and central locking does not work of the key.
after reading many threads changed drivers door acctuvator and relaced missing fuse in cabin no luck so bought complete alarm central locking ecu with fob from ebay replaced them no central locking and won`t start put new battery in fob tryed again same result what could be unpluged or cut.
would I be better off buying this from ebay to get central lockinig on disco

Yes, the kits spec is a good one.

You existing security system must have been interfered with, as you would normally need the fob to remobilise the engine as well as CL and alarm.
